Call for Chapters: Exploring Safeguarding as a Cultural Mission in Higher Education
In recent years, universities worldwide have come under increased scrutiny regarding their roles in providing safe environments. This observation reflects societal demands for greater accountability and ethical governance within academic institutions, particularly in light of growing incidents of harassment, abuse, discrimination, and mental health crises among students, faculty, and staff.
Dr Gabriele Rosato (Research Fellow at IADC) is currently editing a forthcoming volume titled “Safeguarding in Higher Education: Universities as Safe and Inclusive Spaces”, to be published in 2027 as part of a new series coordinated by the Institute of Anthropology (Pontifical Gregorian University, Roma).

This book will treat safeguarding not as an administrative obligation, but as a cultural and ethical project that redefines the university. In addition, it will directly support IADC’s commitment to high-quality safeguarding education, especially for students and staff from marginalised or vulnerable
Call for chapter: Deadline November 22, 2025 backgrounds.
