Women’s Voices in Safeguarding: Share Your Experience

The Institute of Anthropology (IADC) at the Pontifical Gregorian University, as a part of the Global Safeguarding Alliance (GSA) is collaborating with an international research project conteducted by Institute of Child Protection Studies at the Australian Catholic University (ACU), that explores the role, contribution, and lived experience of women - both religious and lay - involved in safeguarding practices within the Catholic Church.

Women play a vital role in education, accompaniment, and care. Yet, when it comes to safeguarding, their perspectives and experiences are still not fully recognised or sufficiently studied.
This research aims to help change that. For this reason, we warmly invite you to take part in an anonymous survey created specifically for women aged 18 and over who are engaged in the life of the Church — whether as catechists, teachers, religious sisters, volunteers, pastoral workers, educators, professionals in Catholic institutions, or anyone who serves or considers herself an active member of the Church community.

The survey is anonymous, available in English, and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete (responses may also be written in Italian).

Your participation will contribute to a deeper understanding of:
•    how current safeguarding measures are perceived;
•    positive experiences and challenges encountered in practice;
•    what improvements are considered necessary;
•    what risks are identified across different ecclesial contexts.
