Second cohort o Lebanese students graduate from the IADC's Blended Learning Abuse Prevention Course

For the second year in a row, the Federation of Congregations in Lebanon (FCL) organised a course for the prevention of sexual abuse of minors in partnership with the Institute of Anthropology (IADC).
This year's course was aimed not only at the lay leaders of the FCL's children and youth groups at the parish level, but also included priests, seminarians, and religious sisters, as well as participants from other Christian organisations and from the FCL's Brussels branch.

The participants trained using the IADC's blended learning programme from April till October 2025 and were accompanied by over 15 teachers from Lebanon's Federation of Congregations.
A graduation ceremony was held on the 25th of January 2026 in Bkerke, the See of the Maronite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch, and under the patronage of His Eminence Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi. The 93 graduates received their certificates in the presence of representatives of their respective organizations, as well as friends and families.

This course represents one more concrete step in the Federation of Congregations in Lebanon's efforts to further Safeguarding in Lebanese Churches, alongside its implementation of a Child Safeguarding Policy and ongoing collaboration with different organisations and dioceses for the common goal of creating a safer Church for all its members.
