Br. Tony Shanahan
Alumni Coordinator
Br. Tony Shanahan is an Australian member of the Congregation of Christian
Brothers, founded in Ireland in 1802. Originally trained as a secondary school
teacher, he later graduated from the Institute of Psychology at the Gregorian
University. Following this he worked in various formation and leadership roles, firstly in Australia and then for 17 years in Africa. It was in Africa that his connection with the Centre for Child Protection began, chiefly through the Blended Learning Program. After he returned to Rome in 2021 to work at his Congregation’s General House, he became the Alumni Coordinator for what is now the Institute of Anthropology.
