Ana Nunes de Almeida, born in Lisbon (Portugal) in 1957. Married, mother of 3 children and grandmother to 5 grandchildren. Sociologist, research professor at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where she was President of the Scientific Council (2014-2023). She has carried out research in the areas of family and female labour, fertility, school, children and childhood. In December 2021, she was invited by P. Strecht to join the Independent Commission for the Study of Sexual Abuse of Children in the Church (1950-2022), and is one of the authors of the report Giving Silence a Voice (2023).
