European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse
Today is the third #EndChildSexAbuseDay. In 2015, 18 November was set up by the Council of Europe as the "European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse" in order to raise awareness and facilitate open discussion on this topic.
There are more and more young Internet users in the world in danger of becoming victims of sextortion, sexting, cyberbullying and harassment. This year's focus is on the theme of "The protection of children against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse facilitated by information and communication technologies (ICTs)”. More information can be found here.
Also with the aim to build awareness, and to mobilize action for a better protection of minors online, the World Congress Child Dignity in the Digital World, hosted by the Centre for Child Protection at the Pontifical Gregorian University, took place from 3-6 October, 2017 in Rome.
