On April 6, 2017, CCP Diploma course alumnus Fr. Bernard Malasi organized a  presentation on safeguarding minors for 68 clergy and religious leaders of the Catholic Diocese of Malindi, who were gathered for their annual meeting with Bishop Emanuel Barbara.

The presentation included brainstorming on the best strategies to use in the diocese, considering how to take full advantage of available structures: parishes, outstations, Small Christian Communities and other Church associations. The presentation also covered the topics "red flags" and "primary prevention".
