Belgian abuse survivors welcomed by the Pope Visits Our Institute

A group of Belgian victims visited the headquarters of our Institute, at Villa Malta to take part in two meetings: the first with Monsignor Peter Beer, our head of research and development, and the second with our director, Father Hans Zollner SJ, the last November 10th. According to an official statement released about the visit, “it was a very informative moment,” during which they learned more about prevention practices and about our institution’s mission to make the Church a safer place through our academic programs.

The group, made up of victims of abuse committed by members of the clergy, was received by Pope Francis during his apostolic visit to the country in 2024. They came to Rome to take part in a series of meetings at the Roma Curia that culminated in an audience with Pope Leo XIV on November 9.
