Introducing #ChildDignity congress's scientific director: Prof. Ernesto Caffo

A member of the Child Dignity in the Digital World's steering committee, Prof. Ernesto Caffo has had an important role in guiding the development of the congress. He will be speaking during the opening event on Tuesday, October 3rd and will also chair the Wednesday morning session addressing the topic, "Child Sexual Abuse Online: Who Are the Offenders?"  Based on his extensive experience in protecting minors both before and after the online era, how does he see the question of the internet's impact on today's youth? We present his biography so you can also think about what you would like to ask him during the congress which will be streamed online through the CCP's Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Ernesto Caffo is Chair Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, founder and President of SOS Il Telefono Azzurro Onlus and Foundation Child and a board member of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC) and of Missing Children Europe.

He is past President of European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ESCAP) and of the International Forum for Child Welfare (IFCW); he is past Vicepresident of the Italian Society of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry (SINPIA) and of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), past Secretary-General of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and member of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP). He is honorary member of the American Academy for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

He is the author of several books and articles on child psychiatry, child abuse and children’s rights and member of the editorial board of international scientific magazines such as "Child Abuse & Neglect International Journal", "European Journal of Child Psychiatry", "Imago", "Psichiatria dell'infanzia e dell'adolescenza". He was Director of the magazine "Bambino Incompiuto".
