On Dec. 2, the Institute of Anthropology (IADC) hosted a one-day workshop at the Pontifical Gregorian University with representatives from from Catholic Care for Children International (CCCI) in Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, South Africa, Malawi and Sri Lanka, who were in Rome for their annual gathering hosted by the International Union of Superiors General and the GHR Foundation.
The purpose of the workshop was to share experiences from pilot projects on the shift from institutional care to alternative family-based care, the role of different communities, & safeguarding as a major theme. Above all, it aimed to bridge the gap between academia and practitioners.
