IADC gathers over 1,000 people for Advent retreat in Indonesia

The IADC remains firmly committed to its mission of using every available resources to help transform the Church and society into safer environments. That is why, for this Advent, we are making available to 1024 people - most of them from Indonesia, but also from other countries in Asia, Europe, and Latin America - materials designed to foster reflections on Safeguarding.

The project, led by our Head of Research and Development, Msgr. Peter Beer, and by our director, Fr. Hans Zollner SJ, consists of ten reflections (from December 1 to 12) based on the Gospel and viewed through the lens of safeguarding.

This initiative offers a different way of experiencing Advent, inviting participants to draw connections between the Gospel and the practice of safeguarding, so that meditation becomes action.

“This is not so much a scholarly exercise or a systematic introduction to the theory of safeguarding. Rather, it is intended to clarify how much safeguarding, with its various aspects, is rooted in the principles and foundations of our faith and the Good News of Jesus Christ. We repeatedly learn how important this insight is in the course of our work at the Institute”, said Beer.
